Living forward with greater ease.
After years of practice though, I still found myself caught in patterns I couldn’t seem to shift. I’d see it in my students too — doing everything “right,” but still feeling stuck. That’s when I realized something was missing: not just another technique, but a bridge between insight and embodiment — between knowing how to change and feeling capable of actually changing it. That bridge, I discovered, is the nervous system, not just as a concept, but as an embodied experience, an experience that has the potential to be the foundation for real change.
I came to understand that many of us are living in a kind of survival mode without even knowing it. We keep pushing forward, doing the work, trying to shift yet something invisible seems to stand in our way — leaving what we want for ourselves and our life just out of our reach. The truth is, when the body is braced for danger beneath the surface, even the most powerful tools and techniques can fall flat, not because we’re doing them wrong, but because our system doesn’t yet feel safe enough to let them in.
Now I help people grow by supporting them in working with their nervous systems instead of against it. That looks like reconnecting with their body’s wisdom, shifting survival patterns that no longer serve them, and building a more connected, sustainable relationship with life even in the moments that feel chaotic or demanding.
This work isn’t about doing anything perfectly. It’s about learning how to meet yourself in the moment and grow from there. Over the years I’ve found that the most meaningful changes don’t come from pushing harder, they come from learning to be with the truth of your experience, again and again.
Meet Jess
I’m a somatic coach, nervous system educator, and creator of The Art of Embodiment.
Two decades ago I left academia and devoted my life to the study and teaching of yoga and meditation. These practices shaped how I lived, how I worked, and how I understood healing.
What I Believe
You’re not broken
Your nervous system is doing exactly what it learned to do to keep you safe. That means healing isn’t about fixing yourself. It’s about updating the patterns that no longer serve you. And those patterns live in your nervous system.
Change doesn’t have to come through force
Lasting change becomes possible when we understand that our nervous system needs to feel safe, supported and flexible again.
You don’t have to do this alone
We grow best in spaces where we feel seen, resourced and reflected. My work is here to offer that kind of space. Both for the parts of you that are ready to grow and the parts that are still learning how.
